The NSC Board is very grateful that "Pillar to Post" has agreed to sponsor our Academy Programs again this year.  Thank you Todd Caisse and family for your very generous donation!

The NSC Academy program is for players in the U6/U8 age group (typically K, 1st, 2nd grade).  The NSC Academy is the starting point for a solid soccer foundation and a key to preparing our players for competitive travel soccer.  Our Academy program is structured to maximize touches on the ball while ensuring the game remains fun and exciting for our youngest players.  It also acts as a training program for parents who want to get involved with NSC and coach their children as they progress through NSC.  Beginning in April 2016, we will begin a partnership with the New England Revolution Youth Academy that includes the U8 Academy through the U12 Age Groups.  We share a common vision with the Revolution (development first) and are very excited to have their professional coaches work with our Club!

For our U8 players – 3 sessions per week:

  • Tuesdays – New England Revolution Youth Academy led practice (Fixed Dates, 8 weeks)

  • Thursdays – NSC Coach led practice (Fixed dates, 8 weeks)

  • Saturdays – Academy Games (Fixed dates, 8 weeks)

For our U6 players – 2 sessions per week:

  • Tuesdays – NSC Coach led one hour practice that includes a 15 minute scrimmage (Fixed date, 8 weeks).

  • Thursdays – NSC Coach led one hour practice that includes a 15 minute scrimmage (Fixed date, 8 weeks).

Eligible players must turn 5 before August 1 of the soccer year they are registering for and older children cannot be 8 before that date. We have two seasons of the Academy: Fall and Spring.  The Academy program is competitive but non-results oriented, meaning scores from games are not recorded and there are no play-offs; the focus is development and skill building. We have contracted with the New England Revolution to offer professional coaches who not only help the players develop their skills, but will also improve the coaching skills of our volunteer coaches.  Each player is provided a team colored t-shirt for a uniform. We ask that they wear that color for all practices and wear their uniform shirt for the games. All players should arrive at each session with:

  • Their uniform shirt
  • Soccer cleats
  • Shin guards
  • Size 3 ball
  • Plenty of water.
